How can you Bypass an Administrator on your Chromebook [Easy Steps]

What do you do when you want to bypass an administrator password? You’re not alone in this pursuit, and we will show you how to go rogue and bypass an administrator password with a lot of ease.

There is an administrator account on every Chromebook that has complete control over the device, especially in school, which prevents the learners from installing or accessing some sites.

How can you bypass an administrator on your Chromebook

If you’re the only one who uses your Chromebook and wants to disable this setting temporarily, simply hold down “Ctrl+Alt+Escape” while it boots up, then pick “Powerwash” from the menu that appears. All user accounts will be deleted, and all settings will be reset to their defaults.

How can you bypass an administrator on your Chromebook

If you use a Chromebook at school or work, you might not be able to install apps without your administrator’s authorization. For example, if you’re using a school-issued Chromebook, the IT department may want to approve all of your app installs before you can use them.

If you get an “Unauthorized” error warning while trying to install an app or visiting a site, follow these steps:

1. Use Flash Drive

You can use a flash drive to bypass any restrictions on Chrome. This is how you do it. If you want to download a certain game and you are faced with an “unauthorized error”, simply insert your flash drive, go to the whatever you want to download and save on the flash drive, then from the flash drive and install it on the school computer. So it’s really easy, it’s really simple. You don’t have to have any type of special freaking codes or anything like that. You simply just get it from the flash drive and download it to a computer. That’s it!

2. Unblock Everything on Chrome

Open up your Chromebook, and click the “Search” button in the bottom right-hand corner. Type in Settings and click Enter.

1. Scroll down and click “Sync.”

2. Put everything off.

3. If it doesn’t work, select the encrypt option below it and set some random “passphrase.” Confirm and then save.

4. Click Restart with the Restart button and sign in to your account again.

5. You can play the restricted game on the school Chromebook.

3. Use a VPN

You can use a VPN to unblock restricted websites on your school or work Chromebook by simply installing a VPN.

On your Chromebook, a VPN will allow you to bypass administrator-restricted sites.

A VPN is one of the most effective ways to unblock everything on your school Chromebook. A VPN is here to help you circumvent firewalls and filters!

Go to the Chrome web store and search for “VeePN”. Click “Add to Chrome” and install it on your chrome browser.

VeePN is pretty safe and one of the best free VPNs on the Chrome Web Store.

4. Enable Developer Mode

If you’re using a school-provided device, you may not have full administrator privileges. If this is the case, you won’t be able to install certain apps or make certain changes. In order to bypass this restriction, follow these steps:

Open Settings and select the Lock Screen.

Scroll down and select Enable Developer Mode. You’ll see a warning message asking if you’re sure that’s what you want to do. Click “Proceed Anyway.”

A new window will appear with some information about Developer Mode. Click “Continue” then “Agree” (if necessary).

A warning message will pop up again; click “Continue Anyway” again here as well.

Your Chromebook will restart automatically—wait for it to finish doing so before proceeding any further.

When it’s ready,

Open Settings again, then select Advanced > Developer Mode again; this time the box next to Developer Mode should be checked off with a checkmark in it (this will only happen after the first time you enable it).

How to remove or bypass the password on a Chromebook

To bypass the password on Chrome, what you’ve got to do is add another person and then log in with a different Google account.

  • It will take you to the main screen after you have logged in with a new Google account.
  • In the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, click on it and then go to Settings.
  • On the settings page, scroll down and select Show Advance Settings.
  • Scroll down again and select the Powerwash option.
  • In the pop window, click on Restart.
  • Wait for a few seconds for the Chromebook to restart, and once it is done, on the pop-up screen, select “Powerwash” and click continue.

Note: This will delete all information/data on the Chromebook, and you will have to restart afresh once again.

How to Bypass Chromebook Enterprise Enrollment

If you have Chromebook enterprise enrollment and you try to bypass it, just forget about it. Google updated its firmware, so there’s no way to bypass it.

If you have tried it just as an experiment and it’s not possible or you were able to bypass it using the serial code method, the problem is that you wouldn’t be able to update your Chromebook to the latest version. So what is the point of having a Chromebook if you can’t receive updates?

This post guide is divided into three methods: In the first section, we will show you how to bypass an administrator on your Chromebook using a Flash Drive.

In the second section, we will explain how to unblock everything on Chrome, and in the third, we will explain why you should use a VPN. We will also list several options that you can consider when choosing a VPN.

If one method does not work for you, always try another method, as explained in this post.
