Kik is one of the most popular messenger apps in the world, with around 2.5 million users. But if you want to ask a new Kik user about themselves, you might be out of luck because you don’t know what all the letters S, D, and R mean.

Kik is an instant messaging app that allows users to send and receive text and picture messages. It’s also available for both Android and iOS phone devices. The app also allows users to share photos and videos.

One of the most popular features of the Kik app is its Scrappy feature, which lets users send one another animated stickers and emoticons.

So here’s a short guide on how to use the letters on Kik and what they stand for.

What do S, D, and R mean on Kik?

The three icons that appear when you send a message on Kik are the Sender, Delivery, and Read receipts (S, D & R). The sender icon indicates who sent the message (the sender). The delivery icon shows that the message has been delivered to another user’s inbox.

The read receipt shows that another user has opened your message and read it, or partially read it.

S – The letter “S” indicates that your message was successfully sent from your phone to the Kik client server.

D – The letter D, shows that your message was successfully sent to your intended Kik Messenger contact (Receiver).

S – Finally, R indicates that your message was opened by the receiver on the Kik contacts.

How to know if someone mutes me on Kik

If you are using Kik Messenger and someone muted you, here is a simple trick to find out if that person muted you.

  • Open your conversation with the person who muted you.
  • Go to their profile page by tapping on their name.
  •  Scroll down and look for an option called “Last Seen”. If it is blank, then that person has muted you.
  • If it shows the date and time, then the person has not muted you.

What do the three dots mean on Kik?

If you get three dots, on the Kik app, it basically means that you are not making a connection with Kik. So the connection is not going through their server in Canada or the United States.

The three dots could mean two things. One, their server is down, which rarely happens, or your phone is not working and you’re not communicating with them, so check your Wi-Fi connection and make sure your Wi-Fi is on.

What does the red exclamation mark mean on Kik?

The red exclamation mark on Kik means that there is an error sending your message, and in such an instance, you will need to send the message again, so basically you need to delete it and then resend it again.

How to know if you are blocked on Kik?

There is a little double circle “infinity sign” on the top right hand. Just click on that and what you want to try to do is, add the person that you think is blocking you to a group.

And then what happens is that if you click on their name and say that you want to do a group with them, if they have you blocked, you will get a message which says “Dear you are not allowed to communicate with this person/user or you’re not allowed to chat”. If it says that, then you know you’re blocked by that Kik user.

Amazing Features of the Kik

The Kik app is a messaging app with a fun and friendly interface. It’s also quite popular among kids and teens. The Kik app has a lot of good features, including:

  1.  Messages can be sent from within the app or from other places on your phone (like Facebook or Instagram).
  2. An emoji keyboard with thousands of different emoji faces that you can use in your conversations. You may even make your own personalised emojis by photographing yourself and adding them to your emoji library.
  3. A fun sticker collection that you can use in your chat messages. You can even add these stickers to photos before sending them as messages through Kik.
